Unethical, illegal or unsafe acts can have serious consequences for the university and its employees, including financial losses, legal liability, reduced morale and diminished public trust. Each employee shares the responsibility for preventing these effects by averting the causes.

Note: Allegations of noncompliance will remain confidential, to the extent permitted by law and consistent with the need to conduct an adequate investigation of the allegations. The university will take measures to protect from adverse actions or retaliation against any person who, in good faith, makes allegations of noncompliance under this policy. See FSH 3290 and 3810.
